Report about Optical Fibre Network Laboratory
This laboratory session covers Learning Outcome 4: Identify Networking Scenarios.
Please check the link on google drive including all details:

Please download the lecture presentation and the lab sheet then open it on your computer to avoid any mistakes in the showing.
Please follow these criteria, focus and give more words for content which is given a high percent:
Structure = 25%
Content – Introduction = 15%
Content – Results = 15%
Content – Discussion and Conclusions = 35%
References = 10%
Please use DON’T use personal style (first person).
Use impersonal style.
Provide the report on Microsoft Office Word Document.
Report should follow this structure:
1- Introduction.
2- Method and materials. ( for the method, please don’t simply copying out the laboratory instruction sheet because that is not sufficient).
3- Results. ( need to show some graphs / figures, any calculations and equations or rules and observations related to the experiment such as attenuation, optical fibre power loss, linewidth, efficiency, the critical angle of reflection for the core/cladding interface, the acceptance angle of the fibre ).
4- Discussion. ( need to describe your observations and interpret the results, attenuation, optical fibre power loss, linewidth, efficiency, the critical angle of reflection for the core/cladding interface, the acceptance angle of the fibre and more information in this part is required such as discuss the results and the results of calculations ).
** Please refer to the lecture presentation which is uploaded on the same link on the google drive.
5- Conclusions.
6- References. Here I prefer to use these two references to write this report + your normal references + use Harvard style:
1- Course Material Book
Author Glover, I A & Grant, P M
Publishing Year 2010
Title Digital Communications

Extra notes on the INSTRUCTIONS:
Regarding images which are showing the results, upper wave \”channel 1\” for input from the function generator and lower wave \”channel 2\” for output.
To read the time period it\”s already showing on the right side of screen \”Delta mark\” BUT the voltage for each output \”if need it\”, ignore the voltage value which is showing on the screen, and please calculate it by take number of vertical squares multiply voltage scale which is showing on lower bar on the screen.
