Keys in the Car
Q:1 On a cold Winter day, Zsike starts her car to let it warm up. She leaves the car running as she goes back into her house to wait by the cozy fire. A thief sees the unguarded car, hops into the car, and drives off. Zsike calls the police, and soon the police are chasing Zsike’s car through neighborhoods at high speed. The thief runs into Anna who is badly hurt. The thief crashes the car and is killed. Anna wants to sue both Zsike and the police department. On what basis might she sue? Do you think she might win? Why or why not?
