Self leadership
Self leadership can be defined in differently. Some scholars define it as the course through which an individual ascertain the personal direction that he will take and the personal inspiration that he will need so as to execute his self-duties. Other scholars define it as an perceptive and planned approach to personal development that offers him with lifetime means that he can use to access his further interior and exterior resources through his self-direction path and accomplish his vision.
There are twelve rules that govern self-leadership
Exercise good judgment always and lead the using the example of the way your good conducts and should always lead by being an example and exhibiting good behavior. You should be an innovative person by not only thinking but also implementing new ideas.
You should volunteer to be the first one and exhibit boldness and bravery in your ventures. You should also never be afraid to fall and in turn rise up and dust off yourself after falling keeping in mind that those who start their ventures with a kind of susceptibility end up getting stronger after all has been accomplished. You should set yourself life goals that not only affect your life standards but also your whole life.
You should live in speculation of “why” and should view in high regard “why not”; and querying everything. You should actively shun hopelessness and embrace hopefulness thereby rejecting the self-doubts. You should be conscious of the various concepts that can not be taken freely such as the reliability to the truth and always to do the right things.
You should be your brother’s keeper (that is by not only caring about people, but also for them. To be a self-leader, you should embrace changes; it is said that the people who do, and redo what they have always redone over and over again, they don’t get new results, what they only get is boredom, self-satisfaction and indifference.
You should also be ready to learn new ideas by approaching role models and the people that are better than you. Lastly, you should have the notion that everyone and everything exhibits some form of beauty and should go searching for it. It may come as a surprise but you will get to know that you have created very little and there is far a lot that is in store to be revealed.
Motivation
Motivation can be defined as the motive(s) that an individual has for conducting him in a particular way.
There are thirteen policies that govern motivation
Rebuild by engaging in relationships: you should sacrifice your business on the altar of your close family members. It should be an alarm-button if you can be in a position to sustain business but unable to maintain the relationship with the very family members at home (kith and kin).
Reflecting: you should meditate on a daily basis on the lessons acquired and it is vital because it can set the stepping stone to increase the lessons learnt and the accomplishments of the following day. This also includes analyzing the knowledge from both the bad and good leaders.
Have a vision (dream): a good leader should seek high aims and envision what would like to see occur and make an impact to both those within him and himself.
Programming positive activities: you only advance your impact by self advancement. This is because progression is realized away fro where one can get a comfort environment. Remember the saying, “you will never discover a new horizon unless you have the courage to leave the comfort of the shore.”You can listen to lectures how you can grow yourself through various forms of media like audio disks, CDs and DVDs or enrolling in courses.
Resting or taking a siesta: you have got to find avenues to get rid of your exhaustion. Some people tend to think they can get rid of the weariness by taking beverages such as caffeine but the natural remedy to this is through sleeping.
Copying other leaders: you should suit the examples of your role models whom you like their leadership but you should first assess them before copying them.
Taking a day off from work: you should at take a vacation of a day from your normal work and seclude yourself in a place that you can not be disturbed (not even reached by communication means) and go over the course of your life.
Counsel a person: you will realize that you are heading in the right direction after a person comes to you seeking advice. Among the most effective means to make positively maker use of what you have accomplished is by involving it with the rest of the people. If you are in a position to mould a desiring leader can be a refresh way to keep inspired.
Being health conscious: you should take caution of life because if your health gets damaged you wont make a much impact on the others that look up to you.
Take enjoyment in your vacation: you should not only take vacations for the heck of it but should also take great pleasure. This does not exclude the smaller pleasures. In any case they should be enjoyed and not only the pleasures that arise from great events.
Illuminate personal ideals: you should be conscious of what is of meaning to you and that is achieved by having limits of ideals that are distinct.
Exhibit the characteristics of a situational victor: you should always know that even the good people are prone to bad things. Instead of mulling over the bad things that have happened, you should think of how you can make it better. To put it in simple terms, you should gain knowledge from the bad thing or be its victim.
Search for a positive thing out of a negative one: you should not dwell on the consequences of bad things from a negative situation but you should find positive ones from it. It is always said, you are the problem and you are also the solution. Remember what it is said over and over again, hard decisions call for hard solutions.
Motivation theories
Motivation theories split both the internal and external forces of motivation.
Motivation resulting from challenges: people who are straining to accomplish the individual objectives are motivated by difficult situations but they soldier on because they know that those barriers can be overcome and their goals accomplished. This is attained by making the aims achievable; initiating the objectives that are individually important; sidelining the objectives with personal self reputation and presenting the response on the progress.
Motivation resulting from curiosity: in this theory, there is something within the person that makes him curious. This is accomplished by providing the individual with a attractive thing. In short if one is motivated by curiosity, there is an attractive and desirable stimulant (Maddock Richard, 1998).

Motivation arising from control: quite a number of people believe and want to experience being at the helm of their future. They must therefore comprehend the reasons and the consequences between an act and the end result. The people who use or can be made to use this theory can (or use) the following: make the reason and the end result apparent by ascertain an objective and the prize after accomplishment; making the persons judging that the tasks they are doing will make an impact; and letting the individual persons opt what they want to study and the way they can go on about it.
