Globalization and Business 101.
Learning Objective
To better understand the historical development of globalization from antiquity to the current age.
Introduction
In this activity, the student will learn the meaning of globalization by studying its history in antiquity, known as “archaic globalization”, as well as studying two basic sociological theories of globalization, the Modernization and the Dependency Theory. The student will also review globalization in the post World War II era, mostly the Bretton Woods Summit, the founding of the United Nations, the Nixon financial reforms of 1972, and the four pillars of globalization: Economy, Politics, Culture and Technology.
