Part 1: Bibliography: Research and write evaluations of a variety of sources about the Native American song, Golden Arrow, in the form of an annotated bibliography. After providing a complete citation for each source, write a description of the source and a critical evaluation that carefully considers its benefits and limitations for your research. What is the source? How is it useful for your specific research project? How trustworthy and useful is the source for credible information? What are the source’s biases?
Your bibliography should include the following sources:
1. An appropriately selected assigned reading from the course, which discusses the song, performer, recording, or the genre of music, or the recording label. (http://moodle.ramapo.edu/pluginfile.php/563427/mod_resource/content/1/Crawford%20and%20Hamberlin%20on%20Frances%20Densmore.pdf)
2. Wikipedia
3. At least one book
4. At least one encyclopedia entry from Grove music online (electronic encyclopedia)
5. At least one example of the audio available online (Thomas Edison National Historical Park website, Library of congress website, youtube, spotify, or other websites.)
6. An online discography or a collector’s website, of which there are many.
7. An amateur website about the recording, performer, composer, or ensemble in the recording.
8. User posts on websites about the recording, song, or performer. These can appear on a website that you review for another item on this list, such as comments on youtube pages.
Part 2: Written Summary (250 words):
Write a robust introductory paragraph or two about the recording in its historical context, summarizing the information you learned from the sources in your bibliography. The writing should be squarely focused on the specific recording, not a general introduction to the genre, the performer, or early recordings or the technology.
