Deliverable for Project 2
In this assignment, you will research and identify articles/news stories that demonstrate how digital media has been used to influence individuals or organizations. Then you will create a presentation (using a presentation software such as PowerPoint) analyzing and interpreting how the messages within the digital media were used to guide decision-making. In other words, you will be looking for news stories that demonstrate how digital media has been used to influence individuals or organizations and then use the information from the story/stories to create your presentation. You will also use other literature to validate the contents of your presentation. A sample presentation project is attached for your convenience. All copying of this material is strictly prohibited.
Criteria
Formatting Requirements
1. Number of Slides: Minimum of 20-22. Gradated penalty for too less or too many slides. This means that the more slides you are away from the 20-22 range, the more points will be deducted. The slide count excludes the title and bibliographical slides.
2. Layout and Design: Slides must be easy to read and uncluttered (no more than 7 items to a line and no more than 7 lines to a slide).
3. Font Size: Use standard font like Times New Roman or Arial. Use 36-point font for title, 28-point font for main points, and 24-point font for secondary points.
4. Footer: Include the slide number, title of your presentation, and your name in the footer (except on title slide).
5. File Name: The document is saved using the correct protocol (LastnameFirstinitial_Presentation
6. Background/Theme: Appropriate for the presentation. Use creativity here, but your background color or design must not detract from the readability of the slides. A bad example would be using dark text against a dark background. Make sure the background and font colors are a good contrast.
Presentation Requirements
1. Title Slide: Include your name, and project title.
2. Speaker Notes: Add appropriate speaker notes to every slide (Even slide 1) Type the exact words you would speak as if you were talking to the audience during the actual presentation (e.g., the title slide speaker’s notes would start off as “Hello, my name is John Doe. My presentation today is about _______.”). You are pretending here as if you were presenting in person.
3. Contents: You should have slides with the following titles:
1. Introduction and Synopsis of News Story
2. Influence on or change to Organization and/or Individual
3. Analysis of How Digital Media Guided Decision Making
4. Conclusion and Analysis of Results of Change
Bibliographical Slide: Minimum of 3 professional / scholarly sources cited using APA formatting. Note: this means that at least two of your sources must be professional/scholarly.
