Hormone use controversy
The use of hormones have led to various controversies. The following are some known controversy associated with the use of hormones. The use of hormones, such as human growth hormone, has led to a controversy. The human growth hormone has been said to be helpful in assisting children who have a deficient of the growth hormone and thus make them have a normal growth; also, has been said to reduce the aging by reversing the impacts of aging.
Despite the fact that the growth hormones have been painted in such a good picture, adverse effects have been associated with the growth hormones whereby the sellers of them have been blamed of not telling the side effects. The growth hormone have been claimed of causing diabetes, joint pain, body resistance to insulin, an increment in blood pressure among other side-effects.
Based on this controversy, hormones supplements should not be used or if extreme need be, should be used under strict conditions. In most cases, the disadvantages of hormones outweigh the advantages, yet, the effects are not known until at long last (David, 2010). Basing an argument on the aforementioned example of the anti aging human growth hormones, most users are in the prime of their lives such as celebrities seeking fame. However, unbeknown to them they substitute fame for their health, consequences that they come to realize later. Also, a huge number of the hormones are really developed to suit greed for wealth and are given scant credence by scientists, as their so called advantage claims are not yet proven scientifically (Johannes & Yang, 2010). Where the use hormone supplements is important, great caution should be taken whereby one should consult a qualified medical professional regardless of how luring a hormone product is or claimed to be free of side-effects.
