Exploring the social and economic issues within food waste and how design and cultural practices could tackle the food waste crisis

Project description
This is a Product Design essay in contrast to my project. I aim to reduce food waste through the means of home gardening (back to basics). In the essay I wanted to mention issues within food waste (social/economic/ethics) and whether it is linked to our setting (geo influence? cultural?). Food Security/ Food Culture. Also how sustainable design may tackle this i.e planter, advantages (less costs, controlled, CO2 footprint reduced due to reduced transportation etc) disadvantages (Materials – plastic waste? etc)
