In this week, you are to interview an athletic compliance officer, administrator, or coach at a college near you. The purpose is to learn more about compliance and how it works at a university. Below are questions that you should include in your interview. You will want to expand upon the questions given to you and add additional ones of your own.

1.If you are a coach, discuss how you report to administration who you are recruiting.

2.How often does this have to occur? What documents do you have to fill out? If you are an administrator, how do you monitor recruiting?

3.Discuss the initial eligibility rules for freshman student-athletes that want to come to your institution.

4.Explain the process that occurs if a student wants to transfer into your institution.

5.Explain your institutions rules if you do not want to release a student to another institution.

6.Explain your institutions rules for monitoring scholarships to student-athletes.

7.What is the process if you want to cancel a scholarship?

8.Discuss the playing and practice seasons of your program (if you are talking to an administrator or compliance officer then pick 1 sport) What are the rules and limits of the sport in relation to this.

9.Does your institution have awards for those that participate in athletics? If so, what limit is set on those awards and how are they monitored?

10.What is the process for reporting an NCAA violation at your institution?
