The Romantic poets captured the spirit of the post-revolution era, favoring intense passion and emotion over the intellectualism of the Enlightenment. For this response paper, you will need to select ONE Romantic poet that you wish to explore in further detail. After you spend some time becoming familiar with the poet’s work, you will need to select a few poems to discuss and analyze (no more than two are required). First, provide a brief analysis of the poems. Next, use the text of the poems to identify and demonstrate the key traits of the Romantic period. Make sure that you use specific examples, including quotations from the poems. Finally, explain whether your poet’s worldview and themes are still relevant in modern society. Specific examples are encouraged.

Each response must be a minimum of 750 words.
• The paper must be typewritten, stapled and submitted at the beginning of class on the day due.
• The paper must have a header that includes your name, class information (HUM 2234), and date.
• The paper must be double-spaced, 12-font, Times New Roman or Arial font
• A word count must be included either at the beginning or at the end of the paper.
