Re: Suitable ways to Challenge the Effects of Stress on Employees’ Productivity
I would like to make several suggestions in relation to the addressing the effects of employees’ stress on their productivity. This has arisen after several complaints have been forwarded to my office both from the management level as well as from the employees. While the management is concerned about the employees’ productivity, the employees have continuously raised numerous issues that have made me to conclude that they are stressed.
First, I feel that most workers are taking part time jobs to cover their expenses and this has resulted to lateness. In order to address this issue, I would suggest that the company gives the employees a clear policy on transfers and promotions. Further, the work conditions must be met since several employees are stating that the heating system is malfunctioning. As such, the workplace is either too hot or too cold.
Secondly, I would suggest that the management initiates a policy of teamwork. This will ensure that the employees share their thoughts with other workers while working and subsequently, this will help in reducing stress. More so, the company should expand the physical exercise area and open it for all employees. Through physical exercise, workers will be able to release their stress and focus on their work. In addition, it will create an interaction and bonding zone for the management and the employees. Further, counseling should be encouraged and employees’ privacy guaranteed.
Thirdly, given the high cost of living the employees should be approached with a suggestion that their annual saving should be raised to $6,150. The management must take the initiative of making the employees understand that their health insurance claims for employees physical ailment is increasing hence, the need for alternative health management practices including exercise, counselling and other stress management strategies.
In summary, the management should give the employees all possible help so that they are able to cope with these challenging time. Moreover, they should encourage and motivate them by reassuring them on their job security and other concerns.
