Topic: is fracking harmful to the environment
1. Title Page.
2. Introduction. The background to the topic, why it is of interest and why there is some debate and different opinions on it. Approx. 300 words GROUP MARK (But show that we are against environment)
3. Individual articles analyzed (– There are 4 members in the project, so we require 4 DIFFERENT articles about the topic (is fracking harmful to the environment?) “1 for each member” and we need to extract 4 fallacy’s from each article, Examples of Fallacy’s
1- Lack of consistency
2- Poor Referencing
3- Incorrectly Assuming a Casual link
4- False Correlation
5- Meeting Sufficient Conditions
6- Meeting Necessary Conditions
7- False Analogy
8- Deflection
9- Unsupported Assumptions
10- Attacking the Person
• For each member follow these steps
• Paragraph 1 – the writer (job, experience, views, education, qualifications etc.)
• Paragraph 2 – the website (reliability, funding, history, control, etc.)
• Paragraph 3 (&4) – summary of article
• List fallacies found –approx. 4 or 5 – 1 paragraph for each (say what the fallacy is, quote and reference and clarify why it is a fallacy) APPROXEMET 600 WORDS FOR EACH MEMBER.
4. Group summary of information on topic, arguments and fallacies found, and group conclusion. Approx. 300 words GROUP MARK
