Follow these Guidelines:
1. Title:
Include the title (must be original – different from the media article and the original research journal article)
2. Introduction:
What is the topic and why is it interesting?
Include a brief overview of the disease/ microbe/ topic that the journal article relates to. Provide an appropriate amount of information to introduce the topic.
Mention the particular research questions the investigators were asking.
3. Methods:
How did the researchers go about asking this question?
Describe how the researchers went about asking their question; ie. Describe techniques/experiments used to obtain particular results.
– Make sure to include important details such as the databases sed in the study, how they analyzed the data (attributable factor), the countries & areas involved, the years which were studied, etc.
4. Results:
What were the key findings of the study? Identify key findings of the study and present appropriate figures/tables from the paper to aid in your explanation.
– Discuss the diagrams in article. Do not copy and paste the diagham/figure. Refer to it as “table 1”/ figure #1. Something like that.
5. Conclusions:
What are the implications of this research?
Describe the researchers’ interpretations of the results and how this new knowledge will influence the microbiology community.
