For this assignment please examine an episode of a scripted television show (How To Get Away With Murder) and analyze how it represents some aspect of American life, culture, or ideology. For example, you might want to look at how gender and gender roles are represented, or how the American family is portrayed. Does the show employ stereotypes in its representation of race or class? Also consider if the show is consciously critiquing an aspect of American life, such as religion, capitalism, politics, etc. Once you have selected an area of society or ideology to focus on, use specific examples from the show (in the form of dialogue, imagery, plot, camera angles, shots, costuming, characterization, etc.) to support your claims.
