Project Scenario
This assessment will require you to demonstrate your understanding in the use of research techniques and methods addressing the elements that make up formal research, including the proposal, a variety of methodologies, action planning, carrying out the research itself and presenting the findings. In order to complete the whole process and achieve all learning outcomes and assessment criteria, your first step is to select a topic area for an investigative primary research project. You are given freedom to select an area that interests you. The research itself is dependent on you, the context of your area of learning, your focus of interest and the anticipated outcomes. You may draw together a range of other areas of content within the programme of study to form a holistic piece of work that makes a positive contribution to your area of interest. However, it is expected that your project will be work focused and you will demonstrate your knowledge, understanding and application of aspects of Travel & Tourism Management, while addressing a “live” issue.

Remember, your research topic should be agreed by your unit tutor.

Once your research topic is approved by your tutor, you are required to produce a Project Proposal in line with the research title you have selected in the light of the above project scenario. Your proposal must reflect your understanding on how to formulate a workable research proposal. The Research Proposal might be written in
1500 – 2000 words. Following is an indicative Structure and Content of the Project Proposal, you may wish to use.
