GRAMMAR POINT CALCULATIONS
Similar to your discussion board scoring, you lose a point for each major grammatical error. I calculated this by counting every 3 major errors [per the deadly sins of grammar document] as one major error and every 7 minor errors as 1 major error. For each major error calculated, I deducted one-tenth of a point from the grammar score.
CONTENT DEDUCTIONS
When you fail to adhere to the source restrictions and use unacceptable sources, particularly the textbook to try to provide empirical support for your statements, you lose content points. You lose them both because you failed to adhere to the clearly articulated instructions laid out in two areas of the exam but also because you fail to use empirical, i.e. research-based sources as you need to do. You lose a minimum o f 0.5 pts and a maximum of 5 points. The deduction reflects the percentage of all of your in-text citations in the text that originate from unacceptable sources.
