Before change can be addressed in a successful manner, the various factors influencing change need to be identified and understood. For example, factors that commonly affect organizational design may include size, life cycle, strategy, environment, and technology.
Based on your readings in Hickman (2010), respond to the following:
When contemplating change, what are the existing social tensions that provide the impetus for change? Give an example from an organization or situation with which you are familiar.(For me that could be the United Way, Economic Development Corporation or Chemical Industry).
What are the conditions for change and how does leadership influence the change process? How can a leader help create these conditions?
