you may, as relevant, integrate ideas presented
in section readings/articles on the syllabus for this class (the textbook is not one of the
readings you may use). It should go without saying that Wikipedia and the majority of easily
available online sources are unreliable (i.e. they do not provide correct information);
however it might be useful to check the Grove Dictionary of Art Online and/or JSTOR,
and/or the UCLA library, which are available through the UCLA portal. Again, this is not
required, but when done correctly, will enhance your paper positively. In any case, if you do
choose to refer to the syllabus’s articles, or conduct some research on the objects and
images you select, you MUST cite it correctly using footnote references and provide a
bibliography (both in Chicago Manual of Style format).
