Write a research paper about a topic related to administration and leadership in childhood settings. Although your topic may be covered partially by the lectures, you are required to research the topic in greater depth and from a different perspective. Of course, you may also select a topic that you feel relates to the class that was not covered.
You should not simply summarize a general area; you should critically address a specific inquiry. This means that you should have a specific thesis statement or problem question you seek to answer. For example, parental relations may be your general area of interest, but your paper should focus on a question, such as: “What are the pros and cons of parent participation?” Another example: your general area of interest may be physical environment, but you need a specific problem question to examine, such as “As an administrator of a new center, why should I place a considerable part of my start up budget on the outdoor play environment?” or “How could a new center be designed to stimulate infants, toddlers and preschoolers, keeping in mind safety concerns?”
You must use at least 5 references, including 3 recent journal articles (20011-2015).
I have included the rest of the assignment guidelines and the rubric to the assignment in the additional materials. Please follow the rubric as closely as possible. If you have any questions or concerns please don’t hesitate to contact me.
