complete an ethics reflection applying the four core principles of: dignity of the human person; the common good; subsidiarity; and, solidarity. A detailed discussion of these four principles can be found in part one of the Compendium of the Social doctrine of the Church. In addition, your seminar paper should show an understanding and application of how the four core Benedictine values of hospitality, stewardship, stability and community might be compatible or intersect with the dignity of the human person; the common good; subsidiarity; and solidarity.
a. The seminar paper may be a revisiting of the issues explored in the paper you submitted in your freshman year in BA 104 Introduction to Management. If you chose this option, your seminar paper, while not restricted to your position taken in the freshman paper, should indicate whether or not you still agree with the perspective presented during you freshman year.
b. In your seminar paper you are to apply your understanding of the principles mentioned above: dignity of the human person, the common good, subsidiarity, solidarity, hospitality, stewardship, stability, and community to the ethical issue you examined in your freshman paper.
c. If you wish to change your topic or in the event you did not complete a reflection paper in BA 104 Introduction to management, you are to prepare a reflection paper that discusses a current business ethics issue found either in the articles in Business Ethics Annual Editions, McGraw-Hill Dushkin2006/07 or some other business or management related publication. Please note that the ethical issue can involve a profit, not for profit, or public agency. You will complete your reflection according to the criteria given above.
