Unit 4 IP

Assignment Description

As an individual, you will be required to conduct a Breeze Chat Room presentation to your peers and instructor on your Capstone Project.

At the beginning of Unit 2, your instructor will post a list of presentation times from which you must choose one. The sessions will be limited to a maximum of 5 students so be sure to select early. Individual requirements

  1. Each student in the class must make a presentation, in the class chat room, using PowerPoint, audio and other chat tools. The created PowerPoint must use the Notes feature for the script information.
  2. In addition to the presentation requirement, each student must participate as an audience member for at least one chat.
  3. The professor will post all presentation timeslots and students are welcome to participate in as many chats as they choose. Active participation in multiple chats will gain the student additional points for participation. Students who only participate in their required chat will not earn the maximum points for participation.
  4. Participation points are earned not only by being present but by being interactive and giving their peers constructive feedback on the projects.
  5. Any student who does not participate in a chat as a presenter and as an active audience member will not earn the presentation project points. No makeup of this assignment is possible.

Presentation requirements

  1. The presentation must include both audio and visual elements. The audio element must be the presenter speaking to the audience by microphone in the chat room. The visual presentation can include, but is not limited to, a PowerPoint presentation, use of the whiteboard, use of the poll device, use of screen sharing, and interaction through the chat.
  2. At the beginning of each presentation, the instructor will introduce the speakers and assist them with any technology issues. Be sure to send the presentation (saved as 1997-2003 version) as an email attachment to the instructor at least one hour prior to the scheduled presentation timeslot so it can be uploaded into the chat area.
  3. The presentation itself should include: an introduction, identification of specialization, title and type of project, discussion of project approach, a detailed summary of the entire project content, impact of project on specialization industry, and a closing appeal to the audience for support (why they should support) of the project going forward. Treat this presentation as if you are sharing the information to a Governing Board or Administrate Team for funding approval.
  4. Each presenter should plan a 10 to 15 min. audio presentation expecting another 5 minutes for questions and answers from the audience.
  5. If the presenter feels they need practice time, they need to set that up on an individual basis with the instructor.

Final Submission Requirement

Upon completion of the presentation, student should revisit the PowerPoint (script in Notes section) and incorporate any suggestions or corrections pointed out during the live presentation. The student will then upload a Final version of the PowerPoint (including full script in Notes section) to the individual Submit Assignments area.

If you have any questions or concerns about this assignment, please contact your instructor immediately.
