For the company or product you choose you should describe the general market strategy of the company/companies active in that market. You should focus on the four Ps as they apply to the product as well as provide a general understanding of the market they are targeting. You should also identify what area of marketing is most important to the organization’s success and explain why you feel this is true. For example, most people would suggest that the key to Walmart’s success is their low price policy. Each of the areas described should appear as a sub-heading in your paper.
Your sources of information will include the popular business press (e.g. periodicals such as The Wall Street Journal, Businessweek, Forbes, Fortune), newspapers, internet web pages, books and academic journals. You should go back a number of years in your search for information to see how the marketing of these products/services has evolved. I would expect to see a minimum of ten reference sources in your bibliography. I suggest you choose a company or the product of a company that is publicly traded, i.e. the company is not privately owned. Generally, much more information is available on publicly traded companies and their strategies as they must make this information available to existing and potential shareholders.
The paper should be roughly 5 pages long (2000 words) excluding appendices (if any) and the bibliography.
The paper must be written using APA guidelines for citing references.
