Order Description

The assessment for this module is a 4000 word portfolio based on your 6 x 1 hour child observations.
The child observation portfolio has two component parts (plus an appendices section).
(1) Based on your observations, describe the child’s behaviour and development in the context of classical and contemporary theory and relevant research (approx 2500 words)
(2) With reference to appropriate supporting literature, evaluate the process of undertaking the observations; (a) describe why each observational method was chosen and evaluate its strengths and weaknesses; (b) consider any issues of bias, subjectivity and interpretation; (c) evaluate any contextual factors that may have influenced the observations (d) briefly reflect on how conducting the observations has contributed to the development of your knowledge and skill (approx 1500 words)
Appendices – include your observational records and notes (please ensure these are anonymous to protect child and family identity)

All sections should be submitted together AS ONE WORD FILE as per your PGTM handbook. Also see your PGTM handbook for details of the College word count policy.
