The assignment is designed to test your ability to apply the concepts and techniques covered in the unit to your own organisation, or one with which you are familiar. It should also encourage you to reflect on the assumptions and perspectives you have brought to the process.
Select your own organisation, or another you know well and write a report which answers the following questions:
Part 1. All organizations have some way of controlling the output quality of their operations. Describe the current status of the quality management system of the organization. Produce a 750 word report which summarises the quality approach and links this directly to the associated frameworks or theories studied in the course and in your wider reading. Be sure to make reference to the available literature on quality, as well as that for the practices you identify.
Part 2. Produce a 500 word report which discusses how the quality system identified in part 1 is likely to change over the next few years. Be sure to reflect on the recent revision of ISO 9000 or the popular lean six-sigma if they are relevant, and comment on what you would recommend to senior managers as a route to improve the current system.
