1. What research question are the researchers asking?

2. How do they go about answering their question?

3. What methodological approach(es) is utilized by the researchers to answer their question?

4. What data are being used in the study? Did they collect it themselves? If so, how did they collect it? If not, what source are they using?

5. What conclusions do the authors reach about the results of their study?

Next, you need to provide some critical feedback regarding the methodology of the article. This can include, but is not limited to, answering the following questions:

1. Did the researchers adequately explain their methodological approach? Why or why not?

2. If the researchers collected their data, do you think their collection methods are adequate for the question they are trying to answer?

3. Is the method used to analyze the data the best possible choice? Be sure to consider the nature of the question and whether or not it is best captured through surveys, interviews, observations, etc.

4. How would you design a research project to address the researchers question?

5. Do the authors conclusions match their results? Why or why not? Be sure to consider the scope of the data and its generalizability.

6. Can you think of an alternative explanation or conclusion based upon the research results? This can include potential variables not included in the analysis, a different interpretation of the results, or a substantive aspect of the research question that was ignored by the researchers.

Your response needs to be in essay format with proper citations and a bibliography. The response should be between 2-3 pages, double-spaced, 12pt font, with 1-inch margins.

*Note: Remember, though, that it needs to be a peer-reviewed, scholarly research article that focuses on some area of social science.
