This paper will be focusing on voting in “post racial” African American, using the books named below. What do these books have in common? How do they discuss voting with “post racial” , how do they connect? what do they argue? what are the differences?

This class focuses on the African American writers, which mostly have been published within the last two years of Obama’s second term. To what degree have these writers have absorbed the narrative of the post-racial? Do these writers work within a protest tradition with explicit political and social goals, or have they subsumed that tradition within their work?
