4. Evaluating Effectiveness and Efficiency Paper (5-7 pages)

This assignment pertains to the 5
th
step in the EBP processreviewing how things worked; or in other words,
evaluating the intervention effectiveness and your own efficiency in using the EBP process. After implementing
the evidence based process with the identified client or client system, each student will critically evaluate the entire
process and outcomes. Students who are not able to implement the intervention before the end of the semester will
develop a specific plan that outlines how they would evaluate the effectiveness of the chosen service or
intervention. After evaluating the intervention effectiveness, students will also have an opportunity to critically
evaluate their own effectiveness and efficiency in following the five steps of EBP.

The 5-7 page paper should address the following three areas:

1) Implementation process (1 page)
Briefly describe what service or intervention you decided to implement/deliver to address the identified
issue, and how you implemented it or what circumstances and factors kept you from implementing it.

2) Evaluating intervention effectiveness (3-4 pages)
Describe how you evaluated the effectiveness of your chosen intervention by addressing both outcome
and process evaluation

. You can also address fidelity evaluation if applicable. The steps pertaining to
outcome evaluation should at minimum address the following: what
outcomes were measured, how
were they measured, and when
were they measured.
Identify and discuss the strengths and limitations of your chosen evaluation methods (not the strengths
and limitations of the intervention itself). You may want to consult materials from the SWK 540
course or other research methods classes you have taken in the past, and handouts on CMS for
additional details on outcome and process evaluation.
You can include the results of your outcome and process evaluation in your paper if you have already
gathered the data

3) Evaluating personal efficiency using the EBP process (1-2 pages)
