For the final research paper, you may explore a topic of your choosing relating to war cinema or media. You can build on a topic we have discussed in class or delve deeper into a particular subject that interests you. This project necessitates close engagement with at least one film not viewed in class, and also requires you to consult and cite outside sources (assigned readings are okay to use, but should be supplemented with external material). The research project must involve at least five scholarly sources total. You must submit via email a one-page final paper proposal outlining your intended focus in 1-2 paragraphs together with a preliminary filmography and bibliography by Monday, December 7th. You will be graded on the accuracy and thoroughness of your analysis as well as on the clarity and organization of your argument. Make sure to cite any resources you use in footnotes and include a bibliography. Citations should be done according to the Chicago Manual of Style: http://www.chicagomanualofstyle.org/tools_citationguide.html
