Define both organizational values and ethics. Describe the difference between them in an organizational setting.

This final exam consists of five (5) short answer questions, one from each week of study. Each question is worth three (3) points.  USE THIS SAME EXAM DOCUMENT TO WRITE YOUR ANSWERS. You don’t have to write long answers, but your answers do need to be complete and accurate. Each response must include your answers to all sub-questions and must include research and APA citations from a text or any peer-reviewed source from the UOP library for each part of each question. There is no word count, but proper APA in-text citations and sourcing are required. The exam is due back to me no later than midnight on Day 7. Final exams must be on time, late submissions will not be accepted.

 

 

 

WEEK 1: VALUES

 

            Define both organizational values and ethics. Describe the difference between them in an organizational setting. Secondly, identify through research three (3) common rules of ethics or code of conduct in any type of criminal justice agency.

 

WEEK 2: MOTIVATION and EMPOWERMENT

 

            Identify, define, and describe at least two theories of employee motivation, including the scholar who developed the theory. Briefly explain why individual motivation and coaching is sensitive and important in criminal justice personnel management.

 

 

 

        

 

 

 

WEEK 3: ORGANIZATIONAL EFFECTIVENESS

 

            Define and describe the meaning and benefits of Management By Objective (MBO). Secondly, describe organizational effectiveness in law enforcement, and provide one example of how to measure this effectiveness.

 

 

 

WEEK 4: OCCUPATIONAL SOCIALIZATION

 

            Define and describe in detail each of the following:

 

  • Organizational Culture;

 

  • Organizational Behavior; and

 

  • Occupational Socialization, in this order.

 

Define the importance and contribution of Occupational Socialization.

 

 

 

 

 

WEEK 5: PERSONNEL SUPERVISION and EVALUATION

 

            Define two (2) models of employee supervision. What model of supervision is used in the majority of law enforcement and corrections agencies, and why? Finally, describe progressive discipline and what role the supervisor plays in any disciplinary action on their direct report employees.
