The term nuclear power refers to the production of electrical energy via controlled nuclear reactions. These reactions generate heat that, in turn, creates steam that runs the generators to produce electricity. Approximately 1/8th of the electricity produced in the world is derived from nuclear power. In this assignment, you will analyze the use of nuclear power as an energy resource. Respond to the following: Discuss the scientific and technical concepts related to the use of nuclear power as an energy resource. Address the following in your response: How is energy released in a nuclear reaction? How are nuclear reactions controlled? What elements are involved in nuclear power production? What nuclear forces are involved? Explain the advantages and disadvantages of nuclear energy, detailing issues related to production, delivery, cost, radiation, air quality, and waste. Identify a country whose electricity production infrastructure relies heavily on nuclear power. Compare and contrast the use of nuclear power in the United States with the use of nuclear power in this country. Provide examples of the use of nuclear power in your community or state. Consider the three major nuclear accidents in the history of the industry: 3-Mile Island (USA), Chernobyl (Ukraine), and Fukushima Dai-Ichi (Japan). What lessons have been learned from these nuclear accidents that can be or have been used to make nuclear power safer? Write your initial response in 2–3 paragraphs. Apply APA standards to citation of sources

QUESTION DO NOT HAVE TO BE IN APA FORMAT.

1.  Discuss in one to two paragraphs providing two key points on why the pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamics properties of drugs are important concepts to understand as it relates to a better understanding of pharmacology.

2.  Federal regulations and laws have been passed over the years in the aftermath of earlier adverse drug reactions, such as the Sulfanilamide disaster of 1937 or the Thalidomide disaster of 1962.  Discuss in one paragrah some of the measures or acts that the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has passed to avoid similar incidences from occurring in the future an rationale for their passage.

3.  Adverse reactions to drugs have become an observable occurrence with increased drug utilization.  Compare and contrast an allergic reaction from an anaphylactic shock.

Each question has to be at least 200 words in length.  All sources including the textbook must be referenced; paraphrased and quoted material must have accompanying citations.

4.  Drugs can come in the several forms (e.g., solid liquid, injectable, semisolid, transdermal, ophthalmic, or otics).  The use of a particular drug formulation can be based on factors such as onset of action, physician/patient preferences, and the available route of administration.  Name one to two instances where an injectable route of administration might be prefered over an oral route.

Question 4 has to be at least 500 words in length.  All sources including the textbook must be referenced; paraphrased and quoted material must have accompanying citations.
