In a 400 to 600 word single-spaced paper (please fit it all on one page, even if you have to use a small font!), you must identify and evaluate one (1) argument from the text that we have read for that day. Each homework assignment must include the following 4 paragraphs:
• A 1 sentence paragraph explaining the argument that you have chosen – for example, “On page 453, Singer claims that animal experimentation is unethical, because animals can feel pain, and the ability to feel pain is the major criterion for ethical personhood.” Please remember that an argument is a claim that the author makes plus the evidence they give to support that claim!
• A more substantial paragraph raising possible objections to that argument. Please note: you must clearly state how many objections you are raising!
• An additional substantial paragraph defending the argument against each of those objections.
• A final substantial paragraph that evaluates each objection vs. each defense.
