What roles do women play in “Aunt Ida Pieces a Quilt” by Melvin Dixon? Compare these roles to those played by women in Gary Soto’s “Looking for work”, and “what we really miss about the 1950s” by Stephanie Cootz. Based on these examples, would it be fair to conclude that Americans see “the family” as predominantly a woman’s responsibility? I have attached part of my introductory graph.
