Instructions for Question 1-5 (4 points each):

 

In a wild-type (“normal”) sample, the mRNA and amino acid sequence of the world’s smallest gene has been determined and is displayed in the green table labeled “Reference Sequence”.  You are then given 5 mutated DNA sequences for conducting a comparative sequence analysis. Your job is to examine and compare the mutated DNA sequences to the reference DNA sequence and answer the questions for each of the mutated DNA. Type your answers underneath each question within the same box. Use Table 10.4 (The Genetic Code) in the textbook to decode the amino acid sequence from the mRNA codon. Make sure you somehow indicate the portion of the sequence that was altered (highlight or change the font color).
