This week’s Discussion has two parts. For the first part, choose one of the common misconceptions about behaviorism/ABA that you read about in the introduction this week. Why does this misconception exist? Imagine that a potential client is questioning you about this misconception. In your main post, explain how you would address your client’s concern. Make sure to support your argument by presenting the appropriate behavior theory.
Next, consider the nine steps that one should use to set up a self-management plan as outlined in your Behavior Modification text. Pick at least three of the nine steps. Summarize them. Then discuss why these steps are an important part of a self-management plan.

On page 369 of your Applied Behavior Analysis text, there are three scenarios that contain ethical dilemmas. Choose one of the three and discuss how the issues could be resolved ethically. Another issue that has always been an ethical imperative is confidentiality. With the HIPAA law, confidentiality has become even more important. Not only is it an ethical imperitive, it is also a legal one. Breaking confidentiality can lead to career-ending consequences if you are not informed. Discuss confidentiality. What are the limits of it and is it ever appropriate to break it?
