Explain if Margaret Cathpole discussed themes that are common or uncommon among women writers?

This course examines the representation of women in a selection of fiction by women writers in the past 200 years, focusing primarily on the changing attitudes to women and the corresponding development of new techniques of presentation. \nRESEARCH PROJECT: \nEarly in the term I will hand out a list of lost or neglected women writers. Your major individual assignment (7 double-spaced pages in 12 point Times New Roman) is to research and find out more about one chosen woman writer. In addition to the usual biography and explanation of the works she wrote, you will also put her life and work in context. Why was she lost or forgotten? What sources were the most helpful? Did she discuss themes that are common or uncommon among women writers? Was she usual or unusual for her time? Does her writing engage with any of the themes or motifs we talked about during the term? Does she fit in with her historical period? Evidence that you actually went to a library to conduct research will garner higher marks. Your 7 pages will include a bibliography of the works that you consulted and a bibliography of the works she published. \n
