Application: Crisis Intervention Strategy and Prevention Strategies

Crisis interventions have more of a sense of urgency because the substance abuser is in immediate danger as a result of his or her abuse and potential addiction. Developing an effective strategy for crisis intervention that also considers the specific needs of an individual is an integral part of substance abuse counseling, and may contribute greatly to client success. For this Application, you will develop a crisis intervention strategy that takes into account the needs of someone in a selected population of your choice, and reflect on the ethical and legal considerations related to the intervention. Additionally, you will consider how prevention strategies might help address a substance abuse problem in a specific population in your community.
