Using one of the models in Chapter 5 (and state which model you are using), (I think its the congruence model ) what were some of the issues that GM needed to address and why do you think it took GM so long to diagnose the changes that they needed to make to remain competitive in the marketplace? Please give specific examples from the video to support your analysis.
Please apply the Congruence model in diagnosing the changes needed at GM. What were the ‘incongruities’ in their organization that led to the problems they faced?Were they really ‘afraid’ of change? Or was it something else?GM was losing market share over a 25 year period. Certainly, this was a sign of business decline. Why didn’t they act sooner? Why did they think that bigger cars were better? Is this what the consumer wanted?
